Drew Fleming joined Newmark in 2017 as a senior managing director in the Atlanta office. Mr. Fleming co-leads a senior retail investment team specializing in the sale of all types of shopping center assets focusing on grocery-anchored centers; neighborhood and community shopping centers; big-box and power centers; and high-street, multi-tenant retail properties. A 20-year corporate real estate veteran, Mr. Fleming has substantial expertise in the industry, including investment sales in the retail sector. Throughout his real estate career, he has been involved in commercial real estate asset sales for institutional and entrepreneurial owners totaling over $3 billion throughout the Southeast region, including Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Florida. By combining his vast transaction experience with a detailed and process-oriented approach, he is able to achieve the best possible results on behalf of his clients. His team has been repeatedly hired for disposition assignments by many of the most well-known and prestigious shopping center owners in the country.

Mr. Fleming joined Newmark after serving as a senior director in the retail investment sales practice at Cushman & Wakefield. In this capacity, Mr. Fleming was responsible for representing owners in shopping center dispositions across the Southeast. He was also previously at Cassidy Turley, Carter and Marcus & Millichap.

Mark Joines joined Newmark in 2017 as a senior managing director in the company’s Atlanta office. Mr. Joines is a part of a senior retail investment team specializing in providing strategic advice and implementing focused marketing campaigns in the disposition and recapitalization of all types of shopping center assets across the southeast region. His responsibilities include financial underwriting, the management and production of marketing campaigns and deliverables, and the negotiation of purchase and sale agreements. A 20-year corporate real estate veteran, Mr. Joines has substantial expertise in commercial real estate, including investment sales in the retail sector.

Mr. Joines joined Newmark after serving as a senior director in the retail investment sales practice at Cushman & Wakefield. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Mr. Joines was a senior vice president, principal, at Cassidy Turley. His background also includes working at Trimont Real Estate Advisors, where he managed office and retail assets throughout the U.S., as well as financial consulting on behalf of Accenture.

Debbie Strom is a Senior Marketing Coordinator with Newmark. In 2009, she joined the Fleming-Joines retail investment sales team located in Atlanta, Georgia. Debbie acts as a team operations manager handling the design, production and distribution of property marketing materials; property email campaign creation, management and re-design; client reporting; scheduling and planning of client events; listings and compliance; and due diligence facilitation. Debbie graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business-Hotel and Restaurant Administration.

Thomas Bennett

Thomas Bennett is a Financial Analyst with Newmark’s retail investment team located in Atlanta, Georgia. He specializes in underwriting shopping center assets across the southeast region. His responsibilities as a member of the investment sales team include financial modeling, property-level due diligence, lease abstracting, primary market research, responding to investor inquiries and assisting in the production of marketing materials. Thomas is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate.
